Need a little time to wake up?

You’ve probably already heard and seen the video. A fan got on stage at an Oasis concert in Toronto. Watch Liam (the singer) pop nimbly out of the way, and then once they guy is subdued, come back like he’s a tough guy handing out knuckle sandwiches to the poor and starving.

Start at about 1:20 (unless you like Oasis enough to stand a wobbly-cam).

That was a solid shove. Noel is lucky he didn’t come off the front of the stage.

It reminds me of a Sloan concert I caught at the Kee. Some guy jumped on stage. If you’ve been to the Kee, you’ll know that the stage is pretty high. Well, security grabbed the guy strong by the front of his shirt and pulled him - head first - straight to the floor of the pit. It was shockingly violent.

I suppose in that kind of situation of spontaneous and unpredictable people - adrenaline - rock music, security has to be fast and assertive. The stage dive is never something I’d try (uninvited, that is).

I don’t need to jump on stage when I can heckle just fine from the crowd. (I’ve had more than a handful of conversations with bands I adore, in between songs.) Where’s the career parallel in that skill set?
